Why is Whistleblowing System needed?

Pupuk Kaltim sustainably strives to maximize the company values by implementing the Good Corporate Governance (GCG): transparency, accountability, responsibility, independence and fairness. Through this, the company’s competitiveness is expected to be improved both in national and international level. In accordance with the circular letter from PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), as the shareholder of PT Pupuk Kalimantan TImur, has ratified to the Regulation of the Minister of SOE No. PER-01/MBU/2011 on the implementation of GCG further emphasizes the function of the handling of report as the obliged mechanism to respond and manage the company’s risk management.

In the implementation of GCG, whistleblowing is one of the element of internal control on the entity level which should be planned and carried out by company’s work unit in order to:

  • Identify, detect and settle the possibility of criminal act (fraud) and violation of prevailing regulations that bring losses to the company.
  • Provide formal channel particularly for the Pupuk Kaltim’s employees and the (third party) community, vendor, costumer and other stakeholders within the environment of PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur to deliver problems/ complaint.

Through the handling and reporting violation (whistleblowing system) policy, it is expected that PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur could grow the following important points:

  • Board of Directors has a better performance in carrying out task, function, and responsibility in their respective fields.

  • Board of Directors could perform any real action in order to follow up the supervision of employee and other stakeholders in a comprehensive, coordinated, integrated, and synergic way as well as mutual respect the rights, obligations and responsibilities based on the prevailing regulations.
